Yeah, that’s nice. I’ve been subscribed to the tango mailing list for the past few months, and this isn’t the first time I’ve noticed icons you made.
Anyway, good job!

That’s actually quite an original metaphor. Initially I had a WTF moment, but it’s quite clever.
As for the execution, it feels a little flat. Here’s a few tips. On the 48×48, the padlock ‘eye’ shouldn’t be flat like this, it doesn’t work at a large size. Bend it.
You also want the padlock outline darker, due to the dark background, which coincidentally could be a little lighter. The left side could do with a little lighter, smoother highlight to better indicate that’s where the ‘back’ of the book/diary is. The bottom edge would also benefit from having a more pronounced highlight.
Keep up the good work. Thanks!

@ Aantn:
Thanks! It’s always nice to hear that.
@ Jakub:
Thanks, but the actual credit for the metaphor goes to Kalle Persson. I’ll apply your ideas to the icon, thanks a lot for them!

That’s great Jakub, thanks! I’ll be pushing for a 0.3 release in the next few days with this swish new icon.
Keep up the good work!

that’s a very nice icon, though I believe there is still space for improvement on size 22×22 and 16×16. As you can see, the lock and edge of the book is quite blur.

Thanks for the comment, Jones Lee, you’re probably right. Let’s wait for the maintainers opinion about the blur.
